World's 50 Richest Men & Women for 2008

It takes 27 billion dollars to make the top ten list of the World’s Richest Men this year. Last year it "only" took $22 billion to make the top ten list of the World’s most wealthy. This year it takes $14 billion to make the top fifty richest men and women list. A billion dollars just doesn't go as far as it used to go!

This list ranks the top 50 of the World's Billionaires by net worth.

It takes 17 billion dollars to make the top ten wealthiest men list this year. This list ranks the top 50 of the World's Billionaires by net worth.

The three richest women are Wal-Mart heirs Christy and Alice Walton at $16.3 billion and $16.1 billion respectively with Abigail Johnson from Fidelity at $15.0 billion for third place.
